Roy is one of the most well-known and famous racing sailor in the Netherlands. His experience covers various yachting classes and different racing disciplines. He represented the Netherlands in four Olympic Games and won a bronze medal in the Finn class in Atlanta.
Roy coached the Oracle BMW Racing Team in the last America s Cup Challenge and has assisted and sailed in various projects in the Volvo Ocean Race. Additionally he holds many Worlds, European and National titles.
In addition to all the sailing activities he started his own company, in which top-sport and corporate life meet each other on a professional level. Roy Heiner offers a haven for sailors, clients and their relations, sponsors and trainees. The prickle of top-sport can be felt and spectacular challenges are experienced on the water.
Roy was the Technical Sailing Director for ABN AMRO Team at the Volvo Ocean Race 2005/2006. He is responsible for the results of the prestigious sailing team in this heroic race – first overall winning six out of nine offshore legs plus five out of seven inshore races and establishing a new world record for a 24 hour distance sailing. |
